Assaf tells stories full of absurd and hidden humor, derived from the belief that our constant search for identity, clarity, and love is both painful and hilarious.​​

Assaf is drawn to creative challenges that ultimately shape the DNA of a story. He has directed a continuous 7-minute one-shot in an army base, filmed a scene underwater, blended fiction and documentary in a concentration camp , created a 360 VR chase scene in the the desert, and crafted a feature film set almost entirely inside a car at night.
